We won the toss and elected to bat in our league clash against Eccleshall/Little Stoke U15, producing an excellent batting display before heavy rain forced the match to be abandoned.

Openers Ella and Pippa set the tone early. Ella played aggressively, striking 34 from 23 balls with 7 boundaries before being caught behind. Pippa provided stability at the other end, compiling a well-paced 50 not out from 58 balls, including four boundaries and a huge six.

Maddie then took the attack to the bowlers, retiring not out, 54 from 30 deliveries with 9 boundaries. Naveah added a handy 5 not out as we closed on 164-1 from 19 overs, aided by 21 extras.

Unfortunately, persistent rain during the final overs of our batting innings and during the interval meant Eccleshall/Little Stoke never had the chance to reply, and the match was abandoned.

A huge thank you goes to all the parents for travelling and supporting the team in such wet conditions.

Despite the frustrating finish, we can take plenty of positives from our dominant batting performance, especially the composure of Pippa in reaching her half-century.
