Approval of Previous Minutes
The minutes of the AGM held in February 2025 were approved without amendment.
Chair’s Report (Summary)
The Chair reiterated the club’s long-term vision: to provide high-quality senior cricket for men and women, supported by a strong junior pathway and a welcoming, family-centred environment.
The 2025 season was highlighted as one of significant progress. Both the 1st XI and 2nd XI secured promotion, with many of the club’s homegrown junior players making major contributions. The women’s section continued to strengthen despite changes to the national domestic structure, regularly fielding one of the youngest squads in the region.
Financially, the club experienced its strongest year to date, benefitting from record bar revenue, increased personal donations, and major facility improvements — including the accessible ramp and redevelopment of outdoor social areas. The partnership with On Track Care was recognised as a key milestone in the club’s community engagement and contributed to Whitmore being named a Disability Champion Club.
The Chair emphasised that rebuilding the youngest junior age groups remains essential to the continued success of the senior section. Thanks were expressed to all volunteers, sponsors, coaches, players and committee members for their ongoing commitment throughout the year.
Treasurer’s Report (Summary)
The Treasurer presented the club’s financial position and the 2025 accounts.
The club generated a £7,352 operating surplus, or £20,822 before depreciation, with £28,142 reinvested into facility improvements. Bar income reached a record £60,000, generating a profit of £17,600.
A key concern was the continued decline in junior membership income — down over £4,000 in 2025 and £8,000 since 2022, representing a 47% fall. Senior membership revenue increased, but reversing the decline in junior numbers remains essential for long-term sustainability.
Expenditure increased by £8,200 across grounds, coaching, utilities, insurance and umpire costs. Some of these rises were offset by grant income, including disability access funding and an ECB outfield grant.
Trustees Report (Summary)
The Trustees Report reaffirmed the club’s objectives: to provide competitive senior cricket, foster a strong junior structure and maintain a family-friendly, inclusive club environment.
The report highlighted the success of both senior promotions, ongoing development across the women’s programme and the contribution of junior players throughout the season. The trustees acknowledged that rebuilding the under-8 and under-9 age groups is a priority for long-term stability.
The club completed several major facility improvements during 2025, including accessible access works, extended decking and ECB-supported outfield upgrades. The strengthened management structure and community partnership with On Track Care were noted as significant achievements.
Looking forward, the trustees outlined plans to install an accessible toilet, redesign the kitchen, and begin long-term improvements to the changing rooms and showers.
