New Player Sign-Up Guide

Welcome to Whitmore Cricket Club – New Player Sign-Up Guide

To ensure the safety, organisation, and smooth running of our club, all new players must be fully registered on two platforms before playing any matches.

This applies to all players – juniors, women, and seniors.

Step 1: Register on Pitchero (Our Club Membership System)

All new players must be registered on our official membership platform, Pitchero. This step is essential for:

  • Safeguarding
  • Contact and medical information
  • Membership and match fee agreements

What you’ll need to provide:

  • Full contact details
  • Emergency contact information
  • Medical information and relevant consents
  • Parent/guardian consent (for junior players)

For junior players (U18) you’ll also need to give consent for:

  • Use of changing and showering facilities
  • Participation in Adult/Open Age cricket (if applicable)
  • Use of photos/videos for safeguarding or promotional purposes

Register here:

Step 2: Register on Play-Cricket (The ECB’s Official Platform)

All players must also register on the ECB’s Play-Cricket system, which is used for:

  • Player sign-up
  • League registration (required by some leagues)
  • Fixture and results recording

Register here:
Create a Play-Cricket Account

If you’re already registered with another club, don’t worry – our club administrators will request access to your existing profile. Please do not create a duplicate account.

Important – You Must Complete Both Steps Before Playing

A player cannot play for Whitmore in any match (competitive or friendly) until:

  • Pitchero registration is complete
  • Play-Cricket registration is complete

Need Help?

If you’re unsure about any part of the process, please speak to:

  • Your team manager, captain or coach
  • A member of the Club Executive Committee

They can guide you and confirm your registration is complete.

Why This Matters

These steps are required to:

  • Meet safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • Ensure players are insured
  • Comply with league and ECB regulations

Players turning up without completing registration will not be allowed to play.

Thank you for joining Whitmore Cricket Club. We’re excited to welcome you to the team!
